Which Raid Level is Right for Me?

Choosing the right raid level for SQL Server takes careful planning. For example, do you require high performance reading data, but not writing?
How about your performance during a failure. RAID 5 will still operate in a degraded state, but at diminished capacity, will that be sufficient for your business needs or do you require a more performant environment, even in a degraded state? In that case, would a RAID 5+0 be more appropriate? Well, Adaptec has an article that talks about the differences in RAID configuration that is quite useful. Please take a look at that article here:
